El creativo Alex Hutchinson describió Assassins Creed 3, como un nuevo juego en su 90% indicando que prácticamente es una nueva IP. Con un nuevo personaje como Connor, una nueva historia en un nuevo período de tiempo, con nuevos escenarios, nueva mecánica de juego y un nuevo motor gráfico. ¿Cuál es el otro 10%? Sería el protagonista de la serie Desmond Miles, el cual podría estar llegando a su fin según indico Hutchinson, durante una conferencia de prensa de Ubisoft. Desmond Miles es realmente el único factor que une Assassins Creed 3 a los otros juegos de la popular franquicia que data desde 2007. De acuerdo con Hutchinson, debe terminar la participación de Desmond indica que todas las historias de los juegos se completan, sin necesidad de que exista Desmond. "Se parece más a la zona crepuscular. Siempre hay una forma de introducirlo y él está ahí en todos los episodios", dijo Hutchinson. "Assassins Creed 1 fue la historia de Altair. Para ser honesto, creo que Assassins Creed 3 podría tener el mismo éxito incluso sin Desmond. Gran parte de la propaganda anterior a su lanzamiento ha sido en torno al cambio del medio ambiente y del nuevo personaje. Es como un soplo de aire fresco y hasta cierto punto, casi como una nueva IP. "Sin Desmond, se podría haber llamado cualquier otra cosa, y la gente habría dicho que está bien", dijo Hutchinson. "Es sólo que nos gusta el envoltorio de ser un asesino y estar en esta guerra permanente contra Templarios. Hay un enorme valor en eso. Pero [AC3] es un 90% de un nuevo juego." No es difícil imaginar Assassins Creed 3, sin Desmond. De hecho, parece que Ubisoft está poco a poco tratando de alejarse de él. Aparte de Assassins Creed 3, Ubisoft tiene planes de lanzar Assassins Creed 3: Liberación, donde se introduce otro nuevo héroe - Aveline, la primera protagonista femenina y se profundiza en el siglo 18 en el medio ambiente de la Norte América colonial. Recordemos también el documento filtrado supuestamente de Ubisoft para GameStop donde parecía indicar los planes para el futuro de Assassins Creed 3 y sus DLC Episódicos. |
